Abstract in English:
During the winter in ornamental plant production, basal heating is necessary for the cultivation of several species to obtain good quantity and quality of flowers. The great dimensions of greenhouses inflence the heating level in relation to the distance from the heater and in many cases the parts of the culture close to extremity of the greenhouse are colder than others. To obtain heating uniformity has been tested a new application of coaxial heat exchanger. An experimental heating plant was realized in Pescia (central Italy) with PE tubes: the external tube was 32 mm in diameter and the internal one was 16 mm. The internal tube was inserted manually for the wole length of the external and was closed on the end by a cap. Another conventional heating plant was realized to compare the results. The hot water coming from the heater passed in the little tube and came back between the interanl and external one. The tube were placed under the pots of the culture of Zanthedeschia aetiopica. During the 2007?2008 winter season, the temperature was monitored by ten data logger placed in the ground of the pots. The heating plants had difference in energy consumption derived to the different thermal inertia. The temperatures of the ground inside the pots achieved with the coaxial plant were more homogeneous in comparison to the conventional plant with noticeable good heating at the end of the greenhouse.
