The research was focused on an environmental impact analysis of the oilseed rape supply chain in Italy in order to find the most sustainable method of cultivation used. The environmental analysis was carried out on five cultivation realities that were identified as most representative by using a statistical clustering analysis starting from a sample of 251 lands (2751 hectares in total) spread out to ten Italian Regions in the period 2009-2010. The environmental performance has been evaluated by Life Cycle Assessment method. This allowed to identify the cultivation method that caused the lower environmental impact according to the type and the quantity of productive factors that were used.
