Speranza De Chiara The Service for Financial Statements and Accounting prepares the budget and final financial statements as well as any amendments thereto. It assists the Directorate General in activities pertaining to economic/financial planning. It guarantees proper functioning for the Central Administration’s accounting procedures, and ensures that all expenditures made are compliant with administrative policy and accounting standards. It performs audits on accounting procedures for all peripheral bodies, handles the terms of assignment for Central Administration personnel, and provides support to the Central Administration for Scientific Activities in reporting on research projects. It fulfills all obligations regarding the declaration of taxes required under current law, as well as annual payment for related taxes owed by the Central Administration. It performs fiscal verifications concerning contracts and agreements that the agency enters into. It provides consultancy and, where necessary, support in fulfilling fiscal obligations with regard to the tasks and activities undertaken by the research centers/units and the offices of Central Administration. It is in charge of all aspects of inspection procedures, up to the preparation of documentation contesting collection notices. It ensures centralized payment of withholding taxes and contributions pertaining to the agricultural sector.
